Working for Newport and Severnside

We would like to thank all residents who voted Liberal Democrat at the recent general election. In Newport East, Liberal Democrats achieved a massive 8.3% swing from Labour cutting the majority down to 1,600 on a larger turnout. Liberal Democrats now form part of the national coalition that is clearing up Labour's debt. The issues that we campaigned in the election are set to be implemented such as fairer taxes, investment in the green economy and above all reforming our democracy.
